Shortbread with a Malty Millionaire option

Posted by Gill Bland Tuesday, 1st August 2017

Shortbread. So simple and yet so good. Only three ingredients can make you a wonderful, buttery, crumbly biscuit which is perfect to have on your own with a moment of calm and a cup of tea or to package up into a gift. Not only that, but you can use it as a base for all sorts of wonderful sweet treats - perhaps with cream or mousse on top or indeed, millionaire shortbread. However, I’ve always had dubious results when it comes to the caramel part of the shortbread-for-rich-people so I’m sharing a cheats method with you which I discovered by throwing a load of ingredients in my baking cupboard into a pan and has since become a family favourite.

Spring Salmon Tray Bake

Posted by Gill Bland Thursday, 13th April 2017

Roast lamb is the Easter family meal of choice and it’s true, there are few things that can beat a great roast lamb dish. But with spring, perhaps even summer trying to show its face and with Easter holidays perhaps making things a bit more rushed I thought it would be nice to bring you something lighter, less time consuming and more informal. Something that you can prep in minutes, throw in the oven and then pop on the table for everyone to dig in.

The Rapid Response Function In Your Rangemaster

Posted by Alexandra Dibble Monday, 19th October 2015

This function does exactly what you would expect it to – it heats the oven up quickly!

It is really useful for one of those 'oh blow it, I forgot to turn the oven on' moments that we all have! Rapid Response heats the oven up faster than normal with the extra heat from the element in the top of the oven. All you need to do is select Rapid Response - R - on the multi-function control knob and then the temperature you need; the oven will then heat to your chosen temperature faster than normal.  The light on the fascia by the R symbol will come on and will go off when the temperature you have selected is reached.  The fan function then takes over.

Winter Is Coming...

Posted by James McIntosh Tuesday, 13th October 2015

But the good news is it has not arrived yet.  Anyone who watches Games of Thrones will know that line only too well.  Last week I had the privilege of touring the locations of the Game of Thrones set in my native Northern Ireland.  Places I used to visit as a child with my parents on Sunday afternoon drives, however they have now been turned into mass tourist attractions. “The Wall”, which is the cold face of winter, is a quarry, outside of the old port of Larne where one used to board the ferry for the 13 mile trip to Scotland.

The Fan Assisted Function in your Multifunction Oven

Posted by Alexandra Dibble Tuesday, 30th June 2015

This is another in the series of blogs on each of the oven functions you will find on Rangemaster ovens.  I hope you have found each of them useful. Don’t forget, if you have any questions or comments, please let us know.

Not all oven manufacturers use the same terminology for each of the oven functions so it is important to know what is happening in your oven when using them. The fan assisted function in your multifunction oven operates using the fan without the fan element; the element in the roof of the oven and another below the floor of the oven produce the heat to cook your food.

I was asked the million dollar question the other week; of all the many features on Rangemaster cookers, which is my favourite? I don't mind telling you, I have spent a few sleepless nights pondering the question, but now here it is...

National Bread Week: Easy Bread Recipe

Posted by Emma Line Thursday, 16th April 2015

There’s nothing more comforting than the smell of freshly baked bread making its way through the home. Bread is a firm favourite among comfort foods, it’s versatile and can be eaten at breakfast, lunch or dinner and what’s more is that it’s easy to experiment with - so once you know the basic rules you’re able to find your very own perfect recipe.

National Bread Week is from 16th – 22nd April this year and allows us to celebrate this traditional favourite. We love National Bread Week because it gives us an excuse to bake some tasty home-made bread throughout the week (and then all year round).
